1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

I'll accept any work anywhere

If you really live in NYC, NY as you claim to. You should have no problem finding a driving job up there. I know, I've been there, you fit right in...........
Check the local, small, crappy companies, you may find something, ya never know, good luck.

I am hitting up the smaller companies. Just faxed everything over to one guy yesterday, waiting to hear back. He wasn't so positive on the phone, he said his wife will not go for him team driving with a female. However he'd pass my info to any of his buddies in the business that might need a driver.
You don't have to tell me about NY. There are alot of shysters here. You have no idea how many dirty outfits are in this area. Not everyone that runs an ad can be trusted. Then you have the 2-3 rig outfits that have equipment that you can't even cross the scales with. If I have to worry bout dodging scales then I'm just not going to work for them. Too stressful.
So, to put it bluntly, yeah I have tried and it isn't as easy as you think. There's some local work posted now and then, but I do not want to ride around in NY metro traffic on a daily basis. Not my idea of fun at all.
I am not giving up though.

I feel for ya man. I had an empty dry van do this to me on I-15 in northern Montana a few years ago. Thankfully I noticed it quick and somehow was able to starighten it out. With a good record, and expalining what happened to a future employer, I can't see why you couldn't get on with a decent company.

Hi Scud Runner! I appreciate you posting here. I am still looking and pestering some of the decent companies. The most of them told me to wait 6 months and try again. I can do that. I am going to start hitting up the guys over in Jersey too. They do have some pay by load pier work that can help at least pay the bills. Plus work my way back up.
I hope everyone is prospering out there. :biggrin_25525:
