Good luck shotsjc I learned alot... Just keep your ears and mind open..... Right now I am sitting in the Gary yard.. I the trainer and I Are waiting on maintenance to look at our turbo.. It's been acting kinda funny so we are getting it checked out before it becomes a bigger issue... So far I went from jax to jersey and from there to here we are considering a reset so we can have this load relayed to Wisconsin answer can then grab something else to pound down the road with

I leave for Ellenwood this weekend for orientation. Got 11 mos in with another co. but like an idiot moved over to lease to get the miles. Unfortunately truck turned out to be a POS (guess Co. driver dogged it pretty good). Couldn't keep the truck on the road for 2 days without having to turn in for repairs. Brakes, AC, EGR (emissions), Air Compressor, Batteries, Generator, 8 repair shops and only had truck for 6 weeks. Thank God it was a walkaway lease.

Took the time to really check out the Trucking Companies on TTR and Roehl has a good rep with its employees compared. Only one other CO I would have considered but don't drive a 13 speed.

Anyway what can I expect at orientation. Saw DOT and physical first up then what? Any heads up will be appreciated.

First day is qualification day, DOT physical, drug test, pre-work screening, driving test, not in that order... Then training in the "Roehl Way" safety program, lots of paperwork. They also do log book training/review, show you how they want you to log, they also go through the company handbook (The Rules...) It is a busy four days.

Guys with experience will still do a four day oreintation. Only recent grads or drivers with less than 6 months OTR do the 8 day training. At least that was my understanding, but I could be wrong. They are still fine tuning how all that is going to work out.

Think you're right. Rookies :biggrin_25520: come in on Monday and stay the 8 days. Experienced :biggrin_25514: come in on Tuesday and I think are assigned a truck by Friday.

Hey guys, a little update since I have last posted on here. I did not make it into roehl. I had to pull my application, cause my grandfather was in the hospital at the time so I withdrew so I can spend time with my family. I hope to put my application back in soon and start, I will probally start just in time for winter.

I think that's right for experienced. I started back there in June and had orientation Mon-Thursday morning and flatbed refresher Thursday and Friday. Had to go up to Marshfield for my truck from Gary though.
