You sure about that? I drove for 6 months after getting a CDL then bought a truck, reefer and opened own authority. Took me a few months to do research and calculate costs. 2 years later I’m doing great and actually ready to buy my 2nd truck. It’s not rocket science

Would that I could downvote a comment. This was not necessary

You have to have 2 yrs exp for any insurance company to take you on w/o being under a LG companies ins. LG companies own their own ins so they can afford to have drivers with 2 or less driving exp.if you had 5 yrs I would think about putting you under my authority but being in the trucking industry for 13 yrs I know that if something can go wrong it will & it take a little more than 2 yrs to have even an idea of what you are getting into. Sorry and goid luck on that. Carolee Talbert Rcu Trans

Bottom line is not to many ins companies will accept a driver without having 2 or more yrs exp except with LG companies. You wouldn't be able to find ins for at least another yr. I have my own authority and am looking for a few drivers to make more money bc I want to make more money but the ins companies I have spoke with want at LEAST 5 yrs some will accept 2. You should give it at least another yr. And he'll if your smart you will stay as a company driver and get benefits. I Can't even afford benefits myself on the wages I make with one trk & trl.

Bull ####. They will accept them but you will pay for it. My driver costs me extra every month because of a ticket and being under 40. He has about a year driving.

You guys need to quit repeating lunch counter gossip. It all comes down to how much the carrier wants to pay above your wage.

Well, the internet does not convey the proper tone of voice, but I sensed some sarcasm in that remark due to the flack Swift gets for their crash record. If it was a serious suggestion, then I withdraw my remark. If it was made with the sarcasm I felt I detected, then I stand by my comment.
