Well, if he used the truck without auth. to drive himself to the hospital then that's more than enough. Then again I know a kid here in town was with USA for a little under 90 day's just came out of school with them and was fired for arguing that they shorted his paycheck. I had one fired for reckless driving. The guy kept coming over into my lane even while laying on the horn next to the side of the tractor. I graudually moved to the shoulder as he kept coming over and the wheel's on the right side of my truck left the pavement before he started to get back over. Couldn't hit the brakes because I had another truck kissing my ### and was trying to do everything to prevent an accident.
That was about 20 miles west of Texarknana on 30. I chased that USA truck across into Arkansas where he stopped at the flying hook (can't remember the name of the town or exit number) with the BBQ and porn shop across the street pulled in next to him and he watched me write down his truck number and didn't look like he even cared.
Maybe it's the company and the people who work for the company?
Illegally fired

My sister and brother-in-law were Both released from Delta Express after my brother-in-law suffered a stroke in Cali. They were left out there to find their own way home (Mo). They had worked for those people for years and their belongings were left with at the truck stop where they parked the truck. They tried sueing, had 2 lawyers, 1 from each state. They were finally told that they were S.O.L.

Look at it from the company's viewpoint. Driver has a medical problem, can't drive the truck.
Expensive truck sitting there, not making any money. It would cost company lots of money to medically transport driver home.
It is more cost effective to recover the truck, and cut the driver loose.
Cold-hearted? You bet it is. Do I agree with it? No I don't.
This is the reality of it though.
Trucking is a cold, heartless business.
Don't think this could happen to you? Guess again. -
Way back in the beginning of Swift...second round after Daddy co-signed a note with the Mormon Church for little Jerry...Randy Knight was a "partner" in management with Jerry...Jerry had nothing in the way of interest (loans) to Randy when he formed Knight and took many Swift drivers with him...but that is as far (or as close) a relationship that exists between them. Jerry couldn't even get his fingers into Knight when he was giving out low interest loans and taking stock options as collateral...which is how he nosed his way into all those little companies he buried through the years.
I wish people would stop spreading tall tales about Swift or any other company...especially today when a simple search on the internet will verify or vilify any individual or group or company!
Let me help you...search: "Saint Corporation"...that is the principal holding company for Jerry!
