I was dumb enough to try containers twice, two different companies. They all seem like crooks to me. I hope to God I never have to haul another container in my life!!!

I pulled cans off the piers in NJ for a couple years as a company driver. Even though the guy I worked for was a pretty straight shooter and fair I would have no interest in that line of work again. He had a couple of owner ops who ran old clunkers but I wouldn't go into those ports or rail terminals with any truck I owned or actually cared about. Those port chassis' are a real trip too. I had a wheel position come clean off and roll away one day while I was at PNCT in Newark.

Major problem is most O/O's leased on DON'T ask, "hey what does this load pay". I said MOST, so I know there are O/O's that stay on top of this. Most guys have in the back of their head is, "hey, i need to make money so why ask?!" The companies you lease on to know this. Guys, I can't stress enough ASK. If its not worth it DONT TAKE IT!!!! I know it sounds crazy, like your refusing work but if you do simple math the numbers will not lie. Mix that with fuel prices, phew!!!! Lord, help us.

It's about 2700 dollars, but as a new owner you can go straight to Springfield to pick it up to get it right away. Louisiana is pretty cheap but you would have to change your license to LA
