jammer910Z Thanks this. -
I'd call OOIDA and see if they can recommend and hook you up with a lawyer who is familiar with laws regarding your situation. Man, I thought that fine was a typo. I wish you luck.

Same county I got my first out of route ticket. Couple decades ago.
For a fine that extreme I would hire a lawyer.
Overweight tickets I think are hard to beat.
Did the cop use portable scales to weigh your truck and trailer? Did you drive to a scale?
Good luck -
Of course the op dies heavy haul some of there laws are a lot stricter then general hauling

Wow ! Illiinois on a rampage for overweight trucks lately ...buddy got popped recently at rock island with no place to scale and he went to court on the 2000ish fine ..they had no sympathy .

man oh man...
You say "Just for the overweight fine" I assume there were other citations too?
I feel pretty bad for ya- Usually those fines are ripped in thirds after court- 15k
Had a guy a few years back with a Super load here in Cook county- He Got off route and was nailed Fine was like 15k- but after court it was more "reasonable" Cant remember how much was chewed off.
How did this Cop find you? Your in Winnebago county- You Got Hwy 20 (Which 90% of them hang out.)..
And its evident you were on a smaller road somewhere--
I'm guessing a bystander with nothing better to do called in on this 1.bzinger Thanks this. -
