The other day I was bs'ing with a TMC driver. He's been there for 19 years. Said it was the first driving job he got and has loved it. A lot if people say bad stuff about them but everyone has their own ways.
I've seen a few o/o leased to TMC, wicked trucks. I know TMC don't have long nose Pete's like they used to but they still got petes haha.

Flats are where I wanna be but I wouldn't mind pulling tanks.

Food grade is so much better of a job than chemical hauling, but the rates are MUCH worse. But if you're being paid by the mile then it doesn't matter and I'd take food grade all day long.DrtyDiesel Thanks this.

Lone Star would be a good one for you being in Florida. I know a guy who live in Clearwater who drives for them and he is home most weekends and making good money as a company driver. He runs FL to TX and back.DrtyDiesel Thanks this.

Lonestar might be that company to do 2-3 years with staying out and banking the money to buy that first truck. Additionally, you would be exposed to specialized hauling, which could open up a whole bunch of doors later on.SHC and DrtyDiesel Thank this.

That's what id love to have, a run from fl to tx would be awesome!
I was thinking of that too. I really want to get into heavy haul and specialized. Its like elite flat bedding haha

Well, you know where the money in flatbed is, that's for sure!
My van adventure is going swimmingly, racking in some money. My knee is doing well, it stopped hurting whenever I get in and out. Guess all it needed was some time away from climbing up and down and standing out for long time spans, won't be to long before I return to flatbed I guess.DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
Well SHC, I know they both make more $$$ than me making percentage hauling food grade and I dabble in hauling Caustic where I work now and you couldn't ask for any easier of work.

I've been looking at lone star, it is just my issue that it's 5 weeks out. You say he is home most weekend but is that something he's got looped into or is that a usual thing? I live in jacksonville fl, just curious as to if that could get me home like that. Not that I'm going to hold my breath haha.

Looks good, and you just stepped up to the Big Boy Trucking. Flat bed can be really hard work, but it is one of the better paying freight. Good luck, and I hope you love it. Linda
