I'm a flatbedder!

The had straps over my tarps on my load to STL. They loaded it on the trailer and I tossed my tarps on it (I don't usually tarp) and I started putting my bungies on...... then I remembered i needed to secure it down. i got in such a hurry to get the tarps on in the rain I almost made a very bad, forgetful mistake. So I had bright yellow straps over my new black tarps. I know it looked like crap, but it got the job done (plus it only weighed 2,300#) so I didn't care......

By the way, I'm gonna buy some black straps so you can't see them next-time LOL !!!!!

Good to know. They probably use the 4' number because it's easier to count the 2' spaces between like anchor points to make it easier for you to visualize, or hit the right mark. 8' mark makes sense for the same reason, hard to tell measurements when they fall in between dissimilar anchor points. (pockets & spools) Nothing wrong with any over securement, either.

Not square, well, that's not that bad... Loads with empty spots in between the stuff, loads that need plastic first and it's breezy out there, loads of paper eels with plastic first and then your tarp sliding of because it's so slippery...

And the worst thing is when you need to put on a harness and connect to the rail up there with a sliding thingy that doesn't slide so you have to turn around and help it a bit. Everything for safety, I know but lots of times I don't understand the safe idea behind it...

If you don't mind me asking. After all that tarping & driving .. What kind of cash does that put in your pocket at the end of the day? I'm just wondering .. I'm still strongly considering flatbed. Mostly because I enjoy the challenge, the mindset and physicality required to do it right. Thank you
