I do have a question...
Why do Lumpers charge up to $340 or more to unload a palletized load, when as a warehouse worker, I can expect to unload the same load for $8.00/hr., and have the same time constraints? I can understand having to add in equipment costs, but really? Especially when the equipment in question is a 20 yr. old palletjack? -
The $340 charge you are paying does not all go to the "lumper". It's like a pie and all kinds of people get a slice from it.
-
What I figured. Coming from both being a driver and a warehouse monkey, it still seems like a bit of a ripoff to me. Especially for O/O's who have to absorb that cost when they aren't informed about lumper costs until they arrive to the consignee.
-
Any o/o who is absorbing lumper costs, won't be an o/o for long
-
they aint no dought about that.
-
I like that, alot.

Why does a company charge us to unload their product?? I know that the cost is built into the shipping cost, but still...seems kind of silly to me.
