I do pull a dry box. Reefer's even worse, I know. I was just having a bad day.

Shaddap and stop bothering me with logic and reality and lemme whine and moan for a minute.

Sheez, people expect me to be mature and reasonable ALL the time??

Hey Zoom. Do you know much about Schneider? I am training with them in Fontana next week but the issue is back home in the NW their terminal is over 50 miles away. So I have thought about going with Gordon. Their terminal is much closer. I don't really want to park a tractor trailer at some truck stop. Schneider's training is just 3 weeks with a week OTR. Not sure what Gordon's training is like? Thanks!

Actually this was a DC not a store, and that was the first time I've had to deliver that early (we used to deliver at 1500-1800 but they changed it).

Anyway I'm moaning and groaning about something else now.

I'm tired and had a lousy day. I'll be less of a grouch after some sleep.

    Dominick253 Thanks this.

Gordon doesn't train to my knowledge. Schneider has a decent system with a real emphasis on safety; as far as parking goes they might have a secure drop yard closer to you, or a trailer pool where you can leave tractor. Might not hurt to ask. Someone starting out can do worse than the pumpkin trucks. I've pulled for them and they had great benefits and career options for rookies. Thing is they have like eight hundred million trucks so it's easy to get lost in the corporate system. It's always important to communicate and maintain a good relationship with your dispatch team. The good news is they are more willing than most big companies to shepherd new drivers through their system. Most big companies just kind of throw a rule book and some keys at you at orientation then point you at a truck and wish you the best. Schneider was (when I worked there) unusually receptive of questions and willing to help.

Good luck, and keep us all posted!

Thanks Zoom! Well Gordon told me they do training but it's just a straight 4 weeks OTR with a trainer. Not like Schneider's which involves classroom time. I went through a trucking school already.

I'm stretched out on the bunk, stripped down to my Fruit of the Looms (good luck getting THAT picture out of your heads--you're welcome) and going to put this pig of a day behind me. 14 hours total with 9hrs 58min to do 427 miles of driving--oy vey!

GO WITH GORDON. You'll be treated better and make more money. You live in the NW. Schneider is a decent starter company but GORDON IS BETTER. I didn't know they had a finishing program.

    GO.

    WITH.

    GORDON.

I'm with Risinger but have done Gordon. I just wanted a small company atmosphere.

(Risinger requires a year OTR experience)
