I'm baaaaaack!!!!!!!!

All of the above, but chiefly conversations with The Hot Chick and audio books. We're a little over halfway through the Dresden Files stories by Jim Butcher--got the whole series through Audible.com and it is absolutely brilliant. Set in present day, private investigator in Chicago who happens to be a wizard. Think Philip Marlowe meets Harry Potter. I recommend it highly, especially since it's narrated by James Marsters (played Spike on Buffy the Vampire Slayer series--he was supposed to play Harry Dresden on that awful Sci Fi channel series but wouldn't move to L.A.)

If you try them out, get them in order--each book is a complete story but there is an overarching story line that unfolds as the series progresses.

Next book is due out in May 2016.

Well, dinner time is over--back to the salt mines.

 

Doing all right--once I made the mental adjustment that I wasn't going to be doing cross country runs most of the time, my attitude and income improved. If I want to go west, I put in for time off somewhere out west and they get me out there given enough time. Then I just need to give them time to work me back when it's time to go home. I'm staying close to home for now because I need to get an important piece of mail in a couple weeks.

Not getting rich, but that isn't why I came back to Gordon. After all, money isn't everything....

 

Load not ready at Lowe's, so spending night at the RDC in the middle of a nasty thunderstorm. Hot Chick climbed down out of the top bunk because the truck was shaking so bad.

I will suffer for my trade.

 

Ouch. Hope you made out okay--those winds got so bad last night I thought the cab was going to turn over. Still pretty nasty. Days like this I do not envy you skateboard pullers. Especially those guys who have to tarp EVERY load.

 

Aagh, I feel like complete poop. Had dinner in the truck behind the Lowe's store we just delivered to (spending the night here since next run is nearby on West side of St Louis), then heart started pounding and the nausea began. I overeat easily since losing so much weight so quickly, and I think that's what happened here. Took a couple Alka-Seltzer and hope for the best.
