Getting a new truck since this one has been down 3X in two months.

The hotel wasn't exactly Gordon's fault and they've got us in a different hotel tonight.

I'm getting paid for all the downtime.

I don't see what more Gordon could do for me, except maybe to have gotten me out of that truck a whole lot sooner--and although I don't like that it took three lost time breakdowns, the sad truth is there are plenty of "drivers" who will demand a new truck at the drop of a hat, and an organization the size of this one will need a lot more documentation than "I hate this truck."

My last stint here didn't so much go poorly as my expectations were unrealistic to this organization. They've actually been pretty good to me and I've only had to sit once (a dispatch on a Friday that forced me to wait two days before pickup--I made noise about it that Monday and was promptly paid two days layover and transferred to another yard and assigned a new dispatcher).

I didn't really start having money problems til I got my current truck, and my dispatcher told me that I'm getting a new truck tomorrow.

So, not so much bad experience as perhaps misrepresented perspective on your part--I apologize for not being more balanced. It is easy to lapse into negativity when having a crap day.

Everyone may hate me for this, and I'll probably go to hell for saying it, but I don't remember much about this post between these two statements.:(

Meh. Everything between those two statements fits perfectly in the "Water Under The Bridge" file.

A good attitude is a choice, and it will take a lot to get me out of a positive mindset.

Mind you, I'm not too sanguine with how they're getting me that newer truck, but it isn't my money being spent so I really don't have a say.

Unless things go wrong. Then I'll have reason to get negative fast.

At Greyhound. Got a new truck, but I have to recover it. Sigh.

At least they waited til I was at the hotel to tell me, so I would not be prepared to do a recovery (got none of my stuff and can't get in to dealer to get it).

Also, they're making me leave The Hot Chick at the hotel. This one is going into the "Mishandled By Corporate Pudding Heads" file. Hoping it doesn't migrate to the "FUBAR" file.

I will cease being civil if my wife ends up stranded beyond tomorrow morning; she's only prepared to spend one more night.

    I can get mean.

I'm on a bus (darting glances left and right, sweat breaking out, butt going numb).

Positives for the day so far:

Made it to bus station in time (got jerked around for an hour at hotel trying to get shuttle)

    Bus ahead of schedule

No luggage to muscle around, just a small bag

Newer bus has wifi and charging stations

Was able to get breakfast at bus terminal and it didn't suck

Got seat to myself; bus isn't overcrowded

Just learned I'm getting paid $100 plus miles for the recovery

Hotel is on Gordon, and Ramada is orders of magnitude better than the other murdery one

    2 days breakdown pay

    New truck is MUCH newer

    Not freezing (Dallas to Beaumont)

No freaks on this bus except me and I'm keeping quiet
