Heh....
Went to sleep 2030, woke up 0030, it is now 0330 and sleep is nowhere in sight.
Some days I really hate this meat suit.Dominick253 and horsecrazychic22 Thank this. -
It is my day off. Waiting at the Indy terminal for The Hot Chick (renting a car).
Dispatcher sees me standing around taking to a couple other drivers, puts hand on phone mouthpiece, and says (harried manner):
You're a driver, right?
ME: Yes, but--
DISPATCHER: Lemme ask you something, think you can pick--
ME (Over shoulder, walking away): I cannot brain today. I have the dumb.
Two other drivers standing there burst into laughter (they knew what my last two weeks had been like); the dispatcher sat there looking confused, mouth working but no sound coming out. I heard one of the drivers tell the guy I'm not available and offer to help him out before I got out of the building.
Seriously, it takes half a second to ask someone if they can work.
I'm nobody's beech.Dominick253, Gearjammin' Penguin and horsecrazychic22 Thank this. -
Dominick253, Dale thompson and Captain Zoom Thank this.

I do that to my wife every once-in-a-while. (finish her sentences) Needless to say there are no weapons or sharp objects in our house.
Dominick253 and Captain Zoom Thank this. -
Dear Gordon Trucking:
I have told you that I want a long term relationship. I have stated that I recognize quitting is a habit, and that I am over that habit. I think you will agree that I have demonstrated a willingness to work through our issues and resolve our problems through communication and cooperation. Our road has been pretty bumpy recently, and I have been more than patient through the rough patch and now I am willing to start fresh.
THAT BEING SAID--
There are three things you do NOT mess with when dealing with an OTR System driver: 1) His pay, 2) His family, 3) His time off.
You are hitting 2 for 3 right now. Jerk me around one more time and you WILL lose a perfectly good driver. I am wanted elsewhere.
X X XOXO

Ok. Back to silently watching now......Dominick253, Panhandle flash, TB John and 2 others Thank this. -
New truck assignment came today. Truck is older than my current unit but is a double bunk (cheers, trumpets blaring, flags waving, confetti flying, girls dancing, sound of glass breaking).
I'll see it tomorrow.
Right now sitting at shipper in St Charles IL racing the clock on a live load (have about a half hour before it's too late for me to make safe haven legally).
Stay tuned....Dominick253 and horsecrazychic22 Thank this.
