IMHO, Celadon relies on gimmicks to cover some of their shortcomings. Just my .02

Well, that's certainly one way to look at it...their CPM has always been low. I feel that's offset by the free clinic, low cost cafeteria, free dorm, low cost benefits, etc.

But it all depends on your priorities. Not that long ago I couldn't have cared less about benefits/clinic; I wanted a good paycheck.

Something the Hot Chick brought up in one of our conversations re going back is that they're now guaranteeing $900/week minimum for when freight and miles are lousy. I acknowledged and prepared to counter, when she beech slapped me with facts and hard data--the whole time I was there I only made less than $900 5 times (she had pay stubs and I think she would have busted out a Power Point if I hadn't quit arguing).

    Hot Chick wants to leave.

Zoomy, let me give you some "hints"

BIG G- TN based, APU/inverter, .40/mile with monthly bonuses.

HOLLAND- APU/inverter. Satellite tv/radio, coast to coast, call for pay rate

    Lessors-APU/ inverter, coast to coast.

There's also several other mid sized to smaller carriers that will take care of you. Don't sell yourself short with Megas. There's a lot of better options out there. Much better. Better pay, better equipment, better treatment.

There's a couple companies up in Michigan with absolutely BEAUTIFUL loaded equipment that'll run you too. Heartless' assumption that "OTR is going the way of the dinosaur" is way wrong.

Dominick253 and Panhandle flash Thank this.

No augment. I ran coast to coast with Celadon and they're bigger than Heartland/Gordon and they do a lot of intermodal too.

Now I gotta get moving--I'll make some calls today I promise, just let go of my leg.

Ever Fresh is now called Split Rock. May as well add Van Eerden to those. I know all of these haul office furniture out and reefer stuff back. Seems to me there are others, but the names escape me right now.
