I'm up! Hearing the theme from Christmas Vacation in my head.

Could be worse.

 

Low single digits last night, ran the truck since I forgot to put in some anti gel when I fueled in Cheyenne. This thing idles quietly. Time to stagger inside, perform the morning ablutions, and hit the road since radar says all we got right now is snow and a few slick spots between here and the state line.

Spent almost ten minutes yesterday knocking about thirty pounds of ice off my chains.

Hot Chick has been having a rough time of it in the mornings (severe hot flashes and bad case of the shakes, gone about an hour after waking). She found some suggestions on a couple of forums and we're hoping she has an easier time of it today. Doctor's appointment has been scheduled (one for me too, as well as a visit for both of us to the eye doctor--complete PM for both of us). I'm due for THE PROSTATE FINGER OF DOOM. Hot Chick says I should hold out for a nice dinner and movie before I let the doctor touch me THERE.

 

Hot Chick woke while I was rambling, mild anxiety and mild hot flash but nowhere near as bad as last few days. Thank God for small favors. Okay, time to play in the snow--Merry Christmas to all of you and yours, and safe and swift travels home to those of you who are with me on the highways today!

At Utah border (exit 3) stopped for lunch, about 90 mi to go. Preplan going to Oregon, 600 mi, due Sunday. Was gonna catch a movie tonight but gonna go ahead and hour out en route to Oregon. Might stop in Idaho. Hoping roads will still be clear. First time I've gotten this far west in forever. Might get to see the Home Terminal! Hot Chick is keeping her fingers crossed.
