I'm baaaaaack!!!!!!!!

Got moving (got weighed), straight uneventful shot to receiver, double drop and hook, sitting in a Walmart having dinner at Applebee's next door waiting for them to get me dispatched on preplan. That's a quick blast to Amarillo for a preloaded trailer going to Butt Cracker Texas (don't remember the exact town), 345 miles by noon tomorrow.

 

The Hot Chick has decreed this to be a good time for some shopping. I shouldn't have parked at Walmart.

Then again, I've lost so much weight I need new pants...my 40s are falling off of me with the belt at the last hole. I shrunk out of them before they had a chance to start looking worn.

 

Got new pants. 36 waist fits perfect so I got 38 to allow for laundry shrink. Also some new Boots Of Badassdom (+3 movement, +4 stealth, +2 armor, 2D6 comfort).

(If you understand the above parenthetical reference, you are properly awesome)

Sitting outside shipper for the night, 225 miles to go by noon tomorrow for live unload. Move out by 0615, fuel/scale at Flying J Amarillo, grab sandwich for the road, there before 1100 with better than 7 driving hours when empty. Due home in Indy next Thursday and they've got me in Central Time Zone already. Probably gonna get worked back up to Midwest and do regional work for the week. No worries.

 

Dispatched on a double booked load, dispatcher stopped me before I got all the way to shipper. Then 1.5 hours later I get a relay from Wichita Falls Freightliner to Seagoville TX yard. Except the driver left with his load several hours ago. Now my dispatcher is in a meeting and I'll be lucky to get her before she goes home.

WTF!? Some planner has his head up his own rectum up to the shoulders, and I get to pay real money for his incompetence.

 

Nope...I got a message from Dispatch telling me "Don't move working with planner" then nothing, typical driver "support" after hours. Sent an angry message, no cussing or anything like that, just letting them know I don't appreciate getting jerked around like this. I'm sure if the planner got half his pay taken away every time I took a wrong turn out here there would be bloody revolt, but I'm supposed to just smile and take it when they screw up and shaft me out of half a day's work? I don't think so.

 

Got another preplan, 500 miles by Friday. They seem upset with me for getting mad about getting jacked around today...too bad.

Back to the routine tomorrow. Due home the 21st.

 

I have decided to allow somebody else to enjoy the money from the Powerball jackpot.

Seeing as how it's so historically big and all.

This time.

 

Got caught in a Dallas/Fort Worth construction clog and went 14 minutes over on my 14. Have to call my safety director in the morning. She's a cast iron b**ch.
