Well if I had gotten any "warnings" I may have disregarded them as I tend to think for myself and 99% of the negative stuff on line is bs. I haven't bad mouthed Gordon as a company, only said that I am not a good fit and detailed why. There are plenty of people who thrive here; they have well over 2000 trucks and all of those people don't post on this forum.
A down side of journaling one's thoughts and experiences is that people tend to take that as a license to tell you how to live your life under the guise or intent of solving all your problems through their vast wisdom and experience. A pitfall is a human tendency to focus on the negatives and give those a disproportionate level of exposure, prompting the aforementioned, possibly well intentioned notables to begin to push their advice and I-told-you-so's.
I, like everybody else, am on a journey of discovery that I call this life. We are each finding our own ways to support these meat machines we wear on our way to what comes next. If you view things in a macro perspective, it seems unbelievably stupid to knock somebody for choosing to work somewhere you would not. If you are an owner op and I am a lease monkey, what does it matter? You want the control and additional freedom and opportunity for money, I don't want the responsibility and headaches and I am fine with the money I make. The company guy is likewise satisfied with his pay and wants to let the company worry about fuel and maintenance, and maybe he likes the benefits. The local guy wants to be home more. We're all drivers. We all drive the same road eventually -- the dividing walls, we build for ourselves. If someone isn't happy/satisfied, they should change what they're doing or where they're doing it. But they should do it for their own reasons, not because somebody else doesn't like their company for whatever reason.
I have no problem sticking my hand in the fire. Sometimes I've been burned, sometimes I pull out gold. But I live my life on my own terms, answerable to my proper accountability chain -- my household, oikos, oikikos, and ultimately my Creator. These are who shape my conscience and drive my decision making, not the madding crowd. The secret is to know which voices one is hearing, and to know the difference between a storm that can be ridden out and waters for which your vessel was not designed and must be steered around.
