Well, I'm constipated. Anyone got a drain snake? And ten minutes?

$900 just doesn't seem like enough money when your out for weeks at a time.

No, but only pulling $400 in a week because of load planning which can only be described with the phrase "because potato" is worse. I can see the draw for a driver knowing that so long as he/she does what they're supposed to do, they are going to at least get $900 during a week where loads have been slow instead of looking at a paycheck which makes a noose look inviting.

Lunch is one of my core competencies. We'll have to solutioneer an actionable plan and calenderize it. Have your people call my people.

You used the word, "draw". I think of a draw as a loan from the company which is recoverable from future earnings. (Commission-only sales reps often get a draw, for example.)
As I understand it, WageLock (They spell it like this.) is NOT a draw. It is a minimum weekly payment amount to help drivers during slow weeks.
(Edit for clarification. As @8thnote writes in the next post, "draw" here means attraction.)
    ------------------------------------------
Below is from their Q & A. My link is directly to Celadon's web page on WageLock.
    Q. This seems to be too good to be true. Surely, there’s a catch.
    A. No. This is offered as additional compensation to your pay when circumstances prevent you from getting miles. Celadon recognizes the realities of an ever-changing industry and wants to give you financial peace of mind when your pay is inconsistent due to factors outside your control.

I'm pretty sure by "draw" he meant "attraction". As in, he can understand why a guaranteed minimum would be an attractive perquisite. He was not referring to an advance against future earnings. As you and the Good Captain have both stated, Celedons guaranteed minimum program is not an advance against future earnings, but actually seems to be a true minimum weekly wage (provided certain criteria are met). Sounds good to me.

8thnote, yes. That is exactly what I meant when I said "draw".

The "draw" oldtrucker referred to was the furthest thing from my mind when I wrote my reply.

Thank you, Zoom, for providing a balanced look at Professional Driving. You've often said that you would report your experiences and not bash. You have done that. Congratulations for that and for adding the humor. I'm enjoying this thread, and I hope it retains its beneficial qualities between Page 30 and this one.
