If they are sending you to do recovery work, a shower is ill advised. You will never fit in on the bus, and also won't be able to cover up the smell in the truck from the last driver.Dominick253, Panhandle flash, Captain Zoom and 1 other person Thank this.

Man I gotta be some kinda prima donna supertrucker cuz I've done a LOT of varied truckin jobs but recovery? I'd rather wrassle a greased monkey over a bananaCaptain Zoom Thanks this.

Soooo you're saying you suffer from PDST. Let me Google that......
scottlav46 and Captain Zoom Thank this. -
I got half a mind to move over to lease. Just found out lease drivers can use load boards to get their own loads as well as using Celadon dispatchers if they choose.
Then again, even at 70% of gross those trucks are pretty expensive.Dominick253 Thanks this. -
Yeah but then your insurance requirements are bitin you in the tuckas again
Captain Zoom and mitrucker Thank this. -
There have been many anecdotal stories of companies claiming that they "have no company trucks available" for new-hires, in an attempt to coerce said new-hires into leasing. I know that you are a very smart man Captain, but don't let a short-term financial bind pressure you into a long-term contract that you are not 100% informed on and committed to. I have no first hand experience with Celedon, but mega carriers, in general, have a well-earned reputation of not being overly concerned with the best interest of their drivers.Dominick253, Lone Ranger 13, scottlav46 and 1 other person Thank this.

OK 1.If you "own" the left lane.
2.If your truck has train horns.
3.If your truck has "spinner" wheels
4.If your truck has 8" stacks
5. If you have a 12"' or larger visor
6. If your CB has "echo"
7. If you come into every rest area, truck stop, and stop light "loud & proud"
8. If you have a knife, pistol, or hand grenade as a shift knob.
9. If your fuel tanks have "end caps"
10. If you spend more time on the CB than TTR.
Any combination of 2 or more of these symptoms and you may have PDSTLone Ranger 13, scottlav46, mnmover and 1 other person Thank this. -
I have much more than half a mind. I'm just saying the lease is better now than it was when I leased here.
I doubt they're trying to force anybody into a lease; from the office cross talk they're pretty much as frustrated as I am since this puts a serious bottleneck into their pipeline. Certainly my ops manager is aggravated; he had to take me of his board til they can get me into a truck. And orientation is peeved as they have a couple dozen drivers pestering them while they try to handle the influx of new people.
My guess is something happened at the shop to cause this backup and a breakdown in internal communication caused this log jam.Dominick253 Thanks this.
