I'm baaaaaack!!!!!!!!

No parking at Pilot but sitting at a Love's 5 miles east of final. No worries.

 

Payday. Deductions showing. Small amount of money I owed company when I left also showing at original weekly rate. What isn't showing is any income whatsoever--the one trip I turned in, plus orientation pay.

Worries. Dispatch getting an earful tomorrow. Not much pay coming to me but was counting on it. This is not a good way for this relationship to restart.

 

Keep your idle down, keep your appointments, no log violations, keep your mpg up, no accidents, you get the wage guarantee. Simple. How is this complicated? My idle was up the first week because of low batteries. It ain't the end of the world.

 

Shivering. Went inside and was watching YouTube videos on McDonald's Wi-Fi with The Hot Chick, and we forgot to turn on the heat before we left the truck. Bunk heater works great but it takes a few minutes for it to warm the entire cab.

The Hot Chick isn't cold ('cause, you know, she's The Hot Chick). She thinks my diabetes has something to do with my increased sensitivity to cold. I think in this case it's because three days ago, I was dying of the Plague.

 

Heard today: "She was so ugly she could stop an eagle in mid dive."

That's pretty ugly.

 

Tag missing from front of tractor. Didn't do a walk around last night, so it could have fallen off yesterday sometime or got taken on one of the three stops. Or got swiped last night. Either way I'm missing my tag as of 0500.

 

Dispatch is looking into the payroll thing. He recommended I let him do it because it would take me about 800 years to get through. Should have an answer in a couple of hours.

Dispatch says probably just a miskeyed number or wrong checked box in my profile since this is my first check since coming back. Most likely he's right--I've been on the lease side here before and they might have reactivated that profile by mistake. Should be squared away before lunch.

Dispatch is also setting if they can get me an earlier pickup appointment. Pickup in Murfreesboro tomorrow at 1600. I'm like 200 miles away. Load has two stops and both receivers are FCFS so if he can get me in this afternoon I can pick up two days' driving time this week.

My dispatcher is turning out to be a lot better than I first thought. Must have met him on a bad day. It happens.

 

Turns out the system got my trip scanned in on time, but it didn't register to payroll. Dispatch gave me an express code against that trip which will be added to next week's pay (and the advance deducted). Still waiting for an answer from orientation pay. Also waiting to hear about early pickup. Might head that way to get trailer washed out. If I can find good parking.
