Well they're a LOT faster than they were a couple years ago. When they finally got me in the door (2 hours early for appt I might add) they slammed around for about a half hour and now I'm parked in holding waiting for the call to get my bills. It's still 45 minutes before my appt time. Last time I was here I sat in the dock for six hours. After four hours waiting for a door. Then another hour for my bills. One reason I was whining earlier--I was braced to spend the night in the door. This time I'll be asleep in the holding area by eleven and out of here before seven.
Makes me feel a little foolish for complaining. Only about the shipper. My gripes about the rest of my day still stand. Except for how quick my ops manager got me out of the cluster that the home terminal has become.
Okay, so it's actually been a decent day except for a hiccup at the start and a big delay at Petro, and it all worked out in the end. I'm an a##h##e, okay? There, I said it! ARE YOU HAPPY NOW!?!??
(Wandering off shaking my head, muttering to myself)
I'm baaaaaack!!!!!!!!

That's a good run to California, via I-10. If you go into AZ via I-40, you can get off at Holbrook and take the back roads thru Showlow and Globe down to Casa Grande. This will take you by the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument. It's about 20 miles NE of the town -proper. It had plenty of truck parking and is not to be missed if you're in the area. It's a two-story Adobe home built in the 13th century. It's amazing , to say the least, to see such an ancient structure in the US.Dominick253, TB John and Captain Zoom Thank this. -
I LIVE!!!
Couple of PBJ's and a diet Coke for breakfast, plus my daily ####tail of medications, a little limbering up, brief look at the Wisdom of the Ages (checking out The Revelation--heavy. Every time I read that book I think it's a miracle that guy didn't completely lose his mind).
Corporate has me routed across 80, down 76 into Denver, across 70 to Green River UT for fuel, then a brief backtrack to US191 and US163 into Arizona, pick up US160 past Tuba City (The Hot Chick has her camera primed for that sign), then down US89 thru Flagstaff, down I17 thru Phoenix to I10 to Casa Grande for Stop 1. Then across I10 to Colton to final.
Not exactly the route I would have chosen, but there are much worse ways to do it. Anyway, it's their truck and fuel so I'm gonna do it how they want it done.
Revelation Chapter 2 (7 letters to 7 churches)--if you call yourself a believer, and can read that and not be at least a little unsettled, something is broken within you. Just sayin'Gearjammin' Penguin Thanks this. -

It will be in the high 80's here in southern AZ. Life is nice right now.

I like running thru the mountains so the detour over rabbit ears and thru Craig a and Meeker wouldn't bother me but it is a lot slower.
Dominick253 Thanks this. -
Company rerouted me down 55 to 44 and pick up 40 in OK City. I'm gonna shoot down 540 and pick up 40 from there so I don't have to put out $33 in OK tolls (they reimburse but I'm cash poor right now).
