All that PLUS there's MORE! Not only will he serve as companion, he can also work as a back up DUSTMOP!!! No more searching for rags to clean the dash here, boys and girls!

I kid, I kid. Always liked those Benji type dogs, myself. They are real sweethearts.

Phredd made it big in Amway and is currently filming a lavish lifestyle video on Peter Island in the Caribbean. So he doesn't care.

Hooligan is adjusting to life in a truck, which, while cramped, beats the living heck out of life in a cage.

He seems pretty smart. He's a Schnauzer/Collie mix and is quite reserved for a one year old (that may change). He's currently curled up at my feet as he cried when I set up his bed on my driver's seat and tried to put him there for the night. He settled right down when I put his blanket on my bunk and laid down; a few adjustments to the sheets and blankets, a deep sigh, and he passed out.

Then he took over my space when I got up to pee.

    Oh well.

Due to leave today around 1000 (freight permitting). EPU batteries replaced, although the bunk heater is still out (tech went home for the weekend in the middle of the job--truckers aren't the only ###holes in this business). I told them I'm not sitting around all weekend so I'll just drive it broke.

So much for Wage Lock, at least until it warms up or I can get that stupid heater fixed. Til then The Ox is idling.

And you want to put a big pit bull in there with you and the HC??? You won't be able to turn around in there!

Oh. You threw me when you said Pit Bull.

Hooligan is a Schnauser/Collie mix (Schnaullie). He weighs 30lb and is pretty close to full grown, if not already there. And if you look at the pic you can see my hand near his head for size reference. He's on the small side of medium.

Also we had a 50lb Lab mix in a mid roof Volvo then a Prostar for a few years, so we're used to it.

He's actually much less a handful than Luke was when he first rode with me.

For some reason i though you were considering a Pit Bull Terrier awhile ago. My son has a big blue PB. My neighbor has a PB and it is such a great dog. So friendly. Adores my wife. If he hears her voice he runs to the fence just in case she might want to pet him.

I like them, I've had an American Staffordshire Terrier (which is almost a Pit Bull), loved her to death.

BUT: 1) The breed, as you pointed out, is too bulky for my current situation and 2) Celadon prohibits them on their trucks due to bans at many customers and a few regrettable incidents.

Hooligan is just about right (or will be once we get him acclimated--he knows not to go potty in the truck but it's going to take a little time to teach him proper etiquette, like not jumping into my lap and giving me kisses when I'm driving).

Got Hooligan worked up some today with some mild horseplay in the sleeper. He's game but has a fairly gentle disposition, so aside from some light mischief (he grabbed my nose--what's up with dogs and my nose?) he basically just wanted to hang out and cuddle. He'll be extra cuddly for a while as he gets used to his new, much larger world. He needs reassurance. I expect he'll grow to be an awesome trucker buddy.
