I would drive that thing until it dies. Cover up that light and forget it.Pintlehook Thanks this.

First drop was a seven hour live unload. Now I'm behind schedule on both my preplans. Gonna hustle and see if I can pull it out somehow. Maybe.
-
Now it's the engine light and the malfunction light together, and a 25% derate. Looks like I'm stuck.
This is a brand new truck. Who signed off on this thing? -
Highly trained Sellyoudowntheriver mechanics....

Only time I noticed a speed reduction was when the DEF tank ran low, 55mph.
MIL lamp is always on now, and check engine is on more than it is off, because the idle percentage is too high. Or so I was told. -
That's actually why I waited to write it up; I had to idle all day the first two days I had it. But then it derated on me twice (full DEF). Short both times but I parked it the second time. I have orders to move it to Kansas City Freightliner in the morning. Don't know if they're going to repower this load. I do know this KILLS my miles this week since my week started Friday instead of Tuesday.
I'm actually hoping it's something stupid like you said. Then I can move and get back in the freight lanes. -
Hope so, too, but that new, I'm guessing it might be important. Also, the derate happens usually due to something really wrong.
Whatever it is, hopefully they can fix it in an expeditious manner. -
Have you tried doing a manual regen yet? That's usually what has to be done when both those lights are on, and the 1st thing the shop will do.
-
Most FLs won't do a manual regen unless the indicator for needing one is lit.
Panhandle flash Thanks this.
