Bloodbath out there today. I stopped counting inspections at 50, and that was before lunch.

One chicken coop in Texas on I30 was pulling them in even though they were backed up past the ramp and about half a mile up the granny lane.

'Cause, you know. Safety.

 

Anybody heard anything about Big M out of Blue Mountain MS? Small outfit (300 trucks) runs primarily 31st of I-35, dry freight. This forum is strangely silent concerning them. Checking other sources....

 

Grabba messa bamboo flooring in Mt Vernon TX due in North Vernon IN Sunday morning. I'm bouncing off my recap since the Overlords have deemed that I shall not have a 34, but I have time to do this run. Probably going to be kept close to Indy since I'm due home Tuesday.

 

The Overlords are playing Gotcha with me again; this time it's Wage Lock for the first time for the last time yet again. I'm level 5 for compliance two weeks ago (APU out, couldn't get it fixed in Laredo, had to take it to Kansas City, idled a lot for a few nights). I asked if I am to be penalized for the truck breaking and me getting enough sleep. The answer (quote): "Unfortunately yes. It's motivation to get it into the shop as soon as possible. Otherwise you people will just let it ride."

When I pointed out that I did in fact get it to a shop at the earliest opportunity, I was told I should have known to try harder and we people just chase the miles and need to be more conscientious about the equipment.

I ceased arguing my point as he clearly wasn't listening to me. I thanked him for being so helpful to me. He had no clue, just an enthusiastic "Oh, you're welcome, have a nice day."

An old friend turned me on to Big M (he works there). I start a week from Tuesday.

Even the trolls and haters can't say I didn't give it everything I had and more, to make it work. In all fairness I can't say I'm surprised, really. Just disappointed. These guys were great, once--I remember it first hand.
