A main reason I left Gordon. The dispatchers do not dispatch. Your at the mercy of a planner who could care less about you or your work conditions.

And, unlike the DM or FM, you'll never meet the planner.

Got a workout doing a double drop/hook at Lowe's. Left the empty off to the side and bobtailed to a little Chinese place across the street. The Hot Chick (who graciously decided to let me live after my crotch pot comment) can't eat soy so she's over at Panera Bread getting some twigs and bark. We'll meet up at Big Lots after dinner to grab another duffel then hook and scram to the yard. She decided not to cook tonight. I choose life, so I didn't argue.

    Dominick253 Thanks this.

(The Hot Chick is a health food enthusiast. She's allergic to soy, so she eats as close to natural as she can. I kid her that she has a diet of twigs, bark, and clover with occasional berries. And annoying truckers.)

    Dominick253 Thanks this.

Sitting at the yard in Pontoon Beach IL. Showers, laundry, paperwork, maybe a movie in the truck. We've decided to pack in the morning. Check in to shop. Then call Risinger, then call Gordon. Hopefully will be en route to Risinger before lunch.

My life is so freaking exciting. I may just explode.

Dominick253, Bumper and mnmover Thank this.

I'm getting a white '14 VNL670 with the D13, 12 speed iShift automatic and Volvo Intebrake. Don't know the rear ends but last one I had was like 2:73 or something--Volvo pumpkin with a tag rear axle. It never saw less than 7mpg.

I'm pretty sure they're mostly Volvos. I'm doing the Premium lease, payments are a bit more but the maintenance deduction is $.06 vs $.12 for the older trucks. Also my truck will have a balloon at the end of the lease based on retail market value; the older trucks have a $1 buyout. My truck was a team truck before so the term is only 72 weeks. I can buy it for the balloon pmnt (financed at current payment) or swap out for another truck.

Gonna go over it with a fine toothed comb and a magnifying glass. And let my goat sniff it over.

    9tail, Dominick253 and T_TRUCKER. Thank this.

Let me play Devil's Advocate for a bit here. Imagine how frustrating this is for Gordon, truckload carrier and 100% turnover, got to run lots of folks through Orientation to keep those seats filled up. Presumably you sat down with Recruiter and came to terms, so Gordon put you up at the Country Inn, nice breakfast, lunch from Subway or pizza or whatever. Put you in a truck. You've done a couple loads or a few, not sure. That seat in Orientation coulda, shoulda, woulda gone to someone else had Gordon known that a week or so out of Orientation you'd be demanding or might stay if Gordon sweetened the pot with retroactive this or that.

Presumably you've also collected one of Gordon's fat bonuses (like I did) and already received a chunk of that on your first pay... came over from Celadon and now moving over to Risinger.

Are you okay with all this? Do you not feel some ethical disconnect? Gordon pay is usually based on the fleet you're on and I'm not sure what fleet/pay schedule you accepted before starting Orientation.

Double Yellow commented that this was too soon to bail.

I'm old school enough to wonder, 'Is there a fairness issue here?'
