Hit and run, 1220, mega carrier (shall remain nameless). He woke us up with impact then ran two stop signs getting away while I chased him in my slippers. He was observed by a third party who volunteered his contact information. I called his company and gave them the trailer number, they tracked down the driver, and he is now back here having a conversation with the nice police officers.

Only those who work for should be named mega carriers who do hit and runs in the middle of the night.

Guy is a complete loss. I don't understand how he thought he was going to run like that with me chasing him and witnesses watching, with his corporate logo proudly displayed on the tractor and trailer. He ran two stop signs getting away from me.

I got his trailer number and stopped chasing him. His company tracked him down and ordered him back to the scene. I spoke with their safety people today and hooked them up with Big M safety for the dash cam footage in case the triggered event captured his image (he was offset to the left).

The real nail in his coffin was the eyewitness who provided his contact information.

If he'd just stopped, he would have gotten a slap on the wrist and back to work. Now he's gonna get fired (I know that carrier) and have a hit and run on his DAC.

Fortunately the damage to my unit is just cosmetic.

On an unrelated note, my APU died last night.

    Sigh.

if he gets fired, he deserves it. hit and run is serious business, and in this business someone doing something like that now, can only wonder how many other times it has been done.

just reading your story, i have no feelings or sympathy towards that driver.

Picking up or delivering? Pick ups should be drop and hook only.

Delivery, of course. Then I drove an hour to Waterville and am sitting in a dock again, for a slow (est. 2 hrs) load.
