    I would have gotten back there and helped move things along, but the new policy here is NO DRIVER ASSIST.

    They used to pay $150 to unload but the new policy came about some three or four weeks ago. My best guess for the sudden change is somebody got hurt bad.

    I once had a disc get inflamed unloading tires. I couldn't move my leg from the knee down. Wound up taking an ambulance ride to the hospital in IA. Spent eight hours there even though after about an hour or so I could move it again.

    Well, there you have it. One scare like that would put any small company like this one off letting their drivers exert themselves.

    One of our guys had a 3 hour delay on the Tappanzee because of a fatality accident and houred out in Milford CT at the Pilot. Load needs to be in Maine tomorrow morning (Lewiston). Guess who got tagged to bail them out?

    I get zero sleep tonight and no miles tomorrow (tire load).

    Some days, you gotta be the bug....
