    Captin zoom, I hope your new company is everything that makes you happy! And the hot chick lol, it's important to be happy doing this, you seem to have a good attitude even through the BS Gordan is throwing at you. So I think you'll be happy at your new company! Enjoy being a lease OP while fuel is this cheap! Lol. Are you paid % or flat cpm+ FSC?

    Hopefully, as time goes on, you will find time to come back to compare and contrast your recent experiences with GTI and Celedon - without company-bashing, of course. You're good at doing that and the information you provide might help a driver's decision making process.

    All right, asking for some Gordon sympathy certainly roiled the waters here a bit, didn't it!

    My personal preference--just mine--would have been that Captain Zoom had driven for Gordon for a while longer, a few months rather than one month, but has nothing to do with Devil Advocate stance of sympathy for Gordon's out-of-pocket for Zoomy's meals and lodging. Just a cost of doing business and, like Zoomy said, not so much as a blip on the screen.

    Did not realize Gordon had stopped paying bonuses. I'm impressed. Very impressed. The Gerdin team, and many in Indy I'm told came from Celadon, has chops, big time.

    Gordon is a great company for drivers who don't yet have their two-year ticket. Good equipment, good maintenance, great driver support and, let's face it, you get herded around like kindergarteners. More importantly most loads are UNDER 400 miles. Dispatch based on hurt-and-rescue: Do 3 stinkers and you're due a 500-miler. Do a 500-miler and... right. 3 stinkers coming up!!

    26.6% of loads under 100 miles;

    39.5% of loads 100-400 miles;

    66.1% under 400 miles.

    Running truckload, Zoomy's up against the across-the-board 100% turnover the truckload industry has and recruiters who frequently work on commission and tell you about 75% of what you need to know, the remaining 25% being the important stuff. Like being led by the nose ring via QualComm.

    Captain Zoom and The Hot Chick are long past the two-year ticket and should be looking for something different even from Risinger, probably. Dunno.

    Will Gordon give serious thought to how to make itself attractive to two-year ticket holders? Dunno. Apparently with the new pay announcement and detention after 1 hour, Gordon doesn't have to pay bonuses. That really surprises me. That Zoomy's moving on, doesn't.

    It's okay. Got a lot of folks here rooting for you. Including me.

    Hey, look at that. A Victor V post I agree with. Didnt know the part about no bonuses. Sounds like the Crete/Shaffer pkg.

    They rented me a brand new Suburban. Got our stuff in it, hit the road and now we're having lunch about t quarter mile from the Risinger terminal. After we eat I'll be going in to meet my recruiter. Then check in at hotel, unload our stuff, and a quick dash to the airport to return the Suburban followed by a cab ride back to the hotel. I wanna keep this thing; it's niiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

    Got a call from Gordon's director of operations in Green Bay. More on that later though; my food's here.

    Om nom nom.

    All it takes is money. LOTS of money. I know...my daughter had one. Had. She had the niiiiiiiiiiiiiice SUV and Dad had the payment.

    Until she proved that texting while driving, even at creeping speeds, is a very. bad. idea.

    I'm glad to hear you have everything figured out and escaped with dignity. I'm sure Gordon appreciates that more than you can imagine. With a 100% turn over, I bet less than level headed people leave the trucks in all kinds of strange places without a notice.

    I hope you will keep us updated on the new company. Last time I saw a thread on Risinger was when big kid worked there. Good luck and enjoy your afternoon!

    Captain Zoom, may I offer a helpful suggestion? Changing jobs can be very stressful. You should minimize potential distractions for at least a couple weeks. For that reason, I'm offering to allow Hot Chick to ride with me for a while. I'm only thinking of you brother!
