So far it's a bit of a slug but smooth and frugal.

But it's also a bit early to make that judgment.

Well, yesterday was a perfectly horrible day (CH Robertson--nuff said).

Breakfast at the Awful Waffle then slog it up to Winchester VIA delivering Monday morning.

I squawked at first about 650mi over 2 days but relented when I realized we desperately need to get to a Walmart for the initial stock on this Peterbilt.

The truck is as nice as Pete drivers claim, with one exception-- the transmission (Eaton-Fuller 10 auto) is about 10 years behind the time. It's like I'm driving the old FLD120 again. I'm learning how to manage the blasted thing--I need to before I get snow and slush on the ground.

Short hop (250 miles) to Winchester VA, deliver tomorrow 0700. No preplan yet.

After the movie yesterday we stocked the fridge and grabbed a couple of bins for the sundries we had in the Freightliner's desk (since the Pete doesn't have one).

Thinking about calling it Jekyll since it has kind of that dual personality thing going...one minute it's a comfortable ride, great on fuel, easy to drive, then in an instant that antiquated Fuller 10 speed auto is actively trying to kill me.

I really like this truck but I swear I'm gonna hit something before I figure out how to back while heavy or up a hill smoothly!

I'd think the clutch was bye bye it's so grabby, but the thing only has 54K miles on it!

    mnmover Thanks this.

Try keeping your left foot on the brake a little.
