I keep getting the trailer and tractor brake lines mixed up. I know ones red and ones blue. Also keep getting the hooking up of the trailer steps confused

Think Democrats and Republicans. Dems are blue. They're left wing. Republicans are red. They're on the right.

The power is in the middle.

Left is blue, right is red.

    Red right.

Look underneath to check your fifth wheel coupling (make sure the locking jaw has the kingpin shaft completely).

While you're back there, crank up your landing gear.

Then the walk around and inspection.

    Bunny hop to the cab.

Ok then unless i am mistaken the yellow valve is the trailer valve that is used for testing trailer brakes. The red valve is the tractor air valve. With those valves which position is open and which is closed

Pull to set, push to release. Says on the knobs. Also when your air gets low enough they will pop out on their own and lock your brakes until the have enough air pressure to release.

ok let me try to help the yellow button is for charging the trailer air system when pushed in the red line is now connected to the air system and releases the parking brakes on the trailer the only testing is checking for leaks when you push in the red button that releases the parking brakes on the tractor so a quick review [ buttons in brakes released - buttons out brakes set- red tractor yellow trailer

Ok the book mentioned a trailer brake test. Something about pushing the yellow button in and making sure the trailer moves. From what another driver explained to me its to make sure the lines aren't crossed
