Grabbed a leg load off the yard delivers tomorrow morning first thing in Kansas City. Backed up by one picking up in KC delivering in Chicago area Wed morning. Was told to expect a preplan tomorrow as they have a bunch of stuff that needs out of Chicago Wed. This is more like it.

These two short loads are broker loads; one needed delivered asap and the other one to get me to the customer freight. No worries.

The Hot Chick has created the position of Fuel Logistics Optimization Officer. She tracks down the cheapest fuel on my route using Risinger's Web site. She can get current day and next day pricing. Handy. By waiting til tomorrow to fill up I'm saving 18 cents per gallon. She wants to pocket the savings since she is finding the cheapest fuel for me.

$1.05/mi+fsc. Also decent discounts at fuel pumps in their network (you can fuel anywhere that takes comdata but only get discount at Pilot/Flying J). Additional FSC for certain NE states (CT, VT, NH, and two or three others) regardless where you fuel.

Pay is Comdata or direct deposit. Saturday cutoff, paid based on empty call (honour system for transflo).

$200 weekly advance but $5 service charge applies.

I saved just over 60 cents a gallon using their fuel network.

I also saved 15% on my car insurance by switching to -- no wait nevermind, I don't have a car.

How are they calculating FSC (what is their base fuel cost/mpg)?

Are you allowed to buy fuel with cash? How does Risinger's fuel discount compare to paying with cash/debit at:

Shell Food Mart: Cameron, MO i-35 exit 54 (just north of KC): $2.009 less ifta ($2.179 w/ifta)
    Road Ranger: Decatur, IL i-72 exit 144 (16 miles longer than i55): $2.072 less ifta ($2.499 w/ifta)

Superbowl games are played on Sunday ("Superbowl Sunday" is the unofficial holiday); Used to be between Jan 9th and Jan 31 until Superbowl 36 in 2002, right here in New Orleans, also with the Pats as champs that year, when they started the new Feb tradition. Over the years, the game went from a 14 week season to 16 (plus the bye), plus the playoffs went from 4 to 6, to 8 and then 12 teams, forcing them to move the schedule out further and further. Since 2002, there has only been one game played in Jan (2003). They are all played on the first Sun of Feb now, at least through 2021. There has been talks about moving the date even further out in Feb because Feb is "sweeps month" in TV marketing, but I digress... :) Yes, I like football!
