FSC is $2.00/6mpg (I think, could be wrong).

I can buy with cash, check, gold bullion, or goat if I want. But I don't get the corporate discount if I fuel outside network. I don't know if I forfeit discount if I fuel in network and pay cash, haven't checked because I don't intend to do that.

When I fuel today I'll be paying $1.82 @ Pilot (plus IFTA). (I70X101, right on my route)

Leasing. Most Risinger trucks are leased.

Usually FSC is figured on 1.25 fuel and truck getting 6 miles per gallon. So with expensive fuel and an 8 mpg truck sometimes fuel is essentially free.

Yep. If I'm right about the fsc formula it's a little high but on 6mpg. I like to hypermile my trucks, started the process on this one this morning. I will have to pay out of pocket to set the truck up since it isn't essential maintenance but it's well worth it. Last Volvo I did this with got average 8.4mpg. The automatic helps a lot. Really drops the fuel percentage. I'm currently establishing the baseline and will be setting things up I the coming months between runs and on my off time. The hard thing will getting the right kind of rubber on it -- without a true maintenance account I have to run what they tell me to unless I just pay for it myself. I might not be able to do that part right away if ever. I don't even know the lowest rolling resistance tires anymore... used to be a Michelin but that was a couple years ago.

Lowest RR tires off the top of my head:

Michelin Xone XTA: 75 (wide single trailer) $750
Kumho klt02e: 78 ("all" position but not recommended for drives) $270
Michelin XZA2 Energy: 88 (true all position) $575
Michelin Xone Energy D: 89 (wide single drive) $850

I've never run any of those that I remember. Been a while since I've hypermiled a truck and all my notes are long gone so starting from scratch. With the price of tires today I guess I can't really do it any time soon. And I definitely can't afford to switch to wide base any time soon, which would be a must if I wanted to do it right. That part of the project will have to be shelved for now. Haven't done the math yet but currently looks like a little over 7mpg. Without the right rolling stock I'll be splitting hairs and using a digital tire gage to get any increases. That's a quick and dirty figure at 67mph (my max), average 62, over 10 hours with 42K in the box. It'll take a couple/few weeks to get a solid matrix established. Going with my gut I feel like I can coax 8 or better Out of it consistently. Then again, my gut is about two sizes too big.

Sitting at CDC in Lemont IL (Chicago area). Been in a dock door for about 90 minutes and they just started unloading me. I was late (thank you St Louis) so I'm a work in and they're doing good to get to me as quick as they did. Only grrr moment is no detention because I was late. Oh well, part of the game. I'm actually getting off pretty light all things considered.

That's gonna be tight, depending on when your 10 hour break fell. I think that's an 800 mile trip (or so).

Truth. It's gonna be REAL tight now that I'm delayed at this receiver. If I can get 300+ miles out today I can do the rest tomorrow. Maybe even by 1730. If I can ever get out of this dock....
