You can hang at the TA down the road and call this number to check in if you arrive really early

    (203) 250-5551

There is parking there but it's only about 10-15 spots.

Really got held up at the pickup in York. Lost a little over an hour. On a freaking drop and hook. So -- even though I covered another 560 miles I couldn't get the head start I wanted on Cheshire CT (it's a drop and hook). It's over 200 miles from Cheshire to Buffalo so should make pickup tomorrow but lost the time to get a head start on the run to Chicago (mostly on account of the snow). Good news is I have all the time in the universe to do the preplans, at least. I'm gonna try and see how close to my original trip plan I can get. I told them when I started -- after two years at Celadon and a month at Risinger, I need to get used to running tight again. It's stressing The Hot Chick out a little now because she's always worried about running behind. I told her to leave that to me and she's cool with that.

Found out I got spoiled driving a Cascadia with its 25 gallon DEF tank. Elsa only has a 10 gallon one, a fact that became clear when the surprise - you - clod- you've - just- run - out - of -DEF- and - I'm -derating- your - engine light came on. Fortunately I got to a Pilot before it actually self neutered.

We only have 23 gallon tanks on ours, and at derate point, mine held 20 gallons after driving about 40 miles at 55mph to get to the next place that had DEF at the pump.

    Haven't run that close again.

    Captain Zoom Thanks this.

I drove a glider Columbia midroof for a year for a company. It was so nice not having the DEF stuff!

Fueling (and freezing my yassoff) at the Pilot on I78 in Jersey. Filling the DEF tank also. Gonna try and get showers today. Might not happen.

Got hooked up with a ten year Risinger veteran by phone today. He's taken a lot of the stress out of these runs with insider tips from just one 15 minute conversation. I'm much more relaxed now.

Mentors. A 15 minute phone call can save you 15% or more off your blood pressure levels.
