Found a Fiero GT with 5-speed. Low miles, 87 model so wrong suspension but the price is right. It's black with black diamond spoke wheels (factory). Factory stereo so would need upgrade. Low price because the engine has been replaced with a GM crate 2.8 (stock). Clutch replaced with engine along with throwout bearing and slave cylinder. Work is three years old, synthetic engine and tranny oil since it was done. Repaint at the same time.

As you can likely guess it has a salvage title. That doesn't mean much to me; I buy 'em to drive 'em and HATE trailer queens. Also a salvage title Fiero would make an excellent base for a kit later.

    I'll keep you posted.

Before you ask it was an engine fire caused by an idiot tech at an oil change center botching a fuel injector cleaning. Said chain paid to replace the engine and wiring and repair associated fire damage, and repaint the car. The owner paid the dealer to replace the clutch and throwout bearing and slave cylinder while the engine was out.

The new engine has about 45,000 miles on it.

He's selling it to raise money for a cruise for himself and his wife and needs to do something by the end of the month. I need to meet up with the guy and drive the car.

Loved my 2013 RS but I wish I bought the SS. I'm a big guy too (6-2, 290) and I found it very comfortable to drive, lots of leg room. What I didn't like was getting out of it after a while. It sits low and I guess I'm getting old but i started having pain in my right leg when getting out. Didn't bother me till about a year later, it was my daily driver, wish I had the money to park it for my weekend ride.

Obviously I need to learn how to post pictures!

If you like to modify, NASA has more sensible rules/classifications than SCCA, particularly for turbocharged cars.

With SCCA if you install a $15 boost controller on an otherwise stock car, you jump 2 classifications while the competitive "stock" class cars have thousands of dollars of modifications...

If you like time trials, you might also look into hill climbing.

That's a dead ringer for the one we had over the weekend but ut wasn't the RS; must have been a base model with upgraded wheels.

It was indeed a chore to get in and out of, especially with my kidney hurting after the beating it took last Friday. I'm used to low-slung vehicles though--that Camaro is a breeze compared with the wide sills and deep drop into a '94 Corvette's bathtub-like ####pit.

Would make a great off-time runabout.

I can't even post pics from my phone--gotta wait for the laptop. Which the Hot Chick melds with on a daily basis.

Hill climbs are hard to find in central IN. I don't have anything to do with the SCCA any more because of how convoluted the rules have gotten. I don't drive hard enough anymore to require all of the safety equipment ($$$$$$) the sport demands these days.

I simply enjoy some high speed touring and if I absolutely must have track time whenever I finally get my car I'll join an owner's club and participate in a "run-what-ya-brung" meet like they all have from time to time. I'm a little old for the hard core stuff now.

I know there are numerous venues for a driving enthusiast to pursue, but need to keep my options firmly grounded in reality for my situation and income level. Otherwise I'm not planning, only wishing.

Have learned the new truck is a 2015 with 87,000 miles, getting its second PM. More or less identical to Elsa but with a 5,000 watt Volvo installed inverter (already bought a microwave), and a built in mount for a 19-inch flat screen TV (haven't gotten that yet).

I am so so ready to get back to work; the frustration of sitting around because of someone else's bad decisions is indescribable.

A wise man once said to me, "Always think before you act. Weigh your decisions and consider the consequences carefully, because if you crash and burn, you never go alone. You always take somebody with you, even if you don't realize it. A lot of times, that somebody gets hurt worse than you."

The woman who trashed my truck is currently driving around earning money while I languish in a hotel.

Dr. Chaz Holder, your words have never rang so true. I miss you, old friend.

Doctor: Mr. Smith, you have got to stop masturbating.

    Patient: Why?

Doctor: Because I am trying to examine you.

    (Rimshot, applause)

Yeah unfortunately that was a 2LT RS, leather, nav, backup camera, heads up display(absolutely loved that). Just a little more tech than my 68 SS had. The unfortunate part is it was way too expensive to keep as a toy. My big ### never even attempted to sit in a Vette, lol. I know that was rough.

Oh well, I sold the Camaro and bought my first pickup, F150 Lariat with the 3.5 Eco-Boost motor. That motor is pretty impressive for a truck, 420lbs of torque at only 2500 rpms.

Sorry to hear about your last rig, good luck with the new one!
