Picked up in Atlanta, short hop to Greenville SC, drop and grab a loaded one to Ft Worth TX due Friday. Got my rear end handed to me in KY on I65. Lesson learned; from now on if I'm going south to Buford GA from Pleasant Prairie or Chicago it'll be Rte 41 down. Some lights but I won't lose a bunch of time in all those backups. Cost me my trip plan and a good week; I had to deal with rush hour in Atlanta after all the backups and it made all my preplans a good 3hrs behind. Also I was 10 minutes late to Buford where I had planned on 3hrs early. Sigh. This means my preplan to IP in Mansfield LA will not deliver by noon Friday, and if you don't get there by noon you might as well park and wait for morning because you'll be waiting five hours anyway. And all of that means a 2300 mile week by Saturday.
Welllll...got my nose bloodied this week but I learned a valuable lesson about I65 in Kentucky. I've never gotten any education in my life that didn't cost me something.
I'm baaaaaack!!!!!!!!

Woke up in Commerce GA to get wrecking balled by my allergies. Dayquil time. Feel like I've been hit by my own truck.

Holy crap Batman that made me dizzy and out of breath. Pour me something tall and strong...make it a hurricane before I go insane.

I have the Plague.
I'm starting to be afraid I might NOT die. -
Hard braking event and swerve to avoid a Civic headed directly toward my driver steer on I-20. Kept it upright and avoided a collision but cargo (paper rolls) came through the front of trailer, stopping inches from the cab. Royally cheesed off right now since that dolt in the Honda is going on with his life and I'm stuck here in Shreveport til Monday, at best. So much for a paycheck this week. Sigh.
Still alive, though. So I got that going for me.
Which is pretty good.Panhandle flash Thanks this. -
WOW close call, any pictures? And the FMCSA is requiring trucks to stop in shorter distances?

Well Bumper, that guy was on a trajectory leading underneath me. I'm stuck for the weekend but there was no collision or fatality and I still have a fully functional tractor.
I'll try to load pics tomorrow on laptop as the phone doesn't want to do it. Not great pics but the lead roll is more than halfway out the front of the trailer. There appears to have been exactly one rubber mat on the floor of the trailer, at the rear. Awesome. Our claims lady was interested in those photos to say the least. Then again the rest of the mats could be all crumpled up beneath the mess of rolls.
On the plus side I stepped into the casino at Flying J and promptly won $60 on a $20 session at a poker machine. Might try again tomorrow. -
So i am reading from when you started 50 pages ago, but a summary, would you recommend risinger to someone that wants to work towards their own truck and runs as hard as the company will allow?
