Hi folks,
I was a member here sometime before my 16 yr old youngest kid was born. I tried every username I could think of and I think my old acct likely got removed.
We started a family business and all of a sudden had no time for anything but work, lol. I got sick, then remission, and now I'm good and have been hauling logs in the winter months when that job is not real popular lol. if I can be of help, don't hesitate to ask, I finally hit a million miles (that didn't have to go in the paper shredder).![]()
Im back!

What kind of Family Business did you start ??.
Mr.X Thanks this. -
Hi @Michael 247, I was raised on a row crop farm and really missed farming so we bought a small chunk of land and a couple of old tractors (1949 Farmall cub cultivator tractor, and 1958 JD 820 diesel) and leased land to farm we had 35 employees about the time the property owners decided to cash in and retire. The land in this area (Eastern Washington state) is 20 - 30k per acre so it's too expensive to farm anymore...
Our main crop was carrots, but we had corn, spuds, cabbage, apples, peaches... we supplied 3 grocery chains with carrots and whatever else happened to be in season for several years until our oldest kids moved out. It was just a great way to raise the kids and be doing something we enjoy.
Wasnt more than 6 months later (spring of 2014) I was diagnosed with some weird autoimmune disease that was taking out my kidneys, Doctor told me I had a 20% chance of living more than 5 yrs. A year later I was in full remission and I have had some symptoms since but I feel great and will be turning 60 this year!
Sorry for being so long-winded I guess it shows that Ive really missed trucking and the good people in that industry!
Nice looking truck you have there! What do you haul? Im going to try to find an OO who wants somebody to jump in and take a round or two occasionally if I can. I was occasionally hauling logs for an old friend when he has an empty seat, lots of winter work when the industry isn't shut down... -
I was pulling specialized lowboy ...Loading piggybacked Medium Duty Truck Chassis..I'm goin back to Box Trailer/ Van...I hauled Logs when I was young..Really liked it...Hauled a Lot of Coal also in Southern WV...I'm in Southwest Va now..

Welcome back.

Your old name should still be here. It would be just a matter of finding it. If you do, I can merge them if you like. -
Hi Mack E-6, I spent a lot of time looking for the wrong nickname evidently (xrunner), which would have been the www.truckz era. I was way off on the dates and just found my TTR nik, "mr.x" via my gmail acct.

My apologies! I think a lot of forums would have crashed a DB and lost it by now, you guys obviously do good work
. I appreciate your help and the status is not really important to me so do whatever is easiest This thread is the only 3 posts I made with "Mule-team". Thank you for the Welcome back friend!
I was gonna guess heavy haul. I think Reefer and Drybox is a good idea the way things are looking. I don't even see one log truck in a day sometimes around here now, I think our State and Federal wood sales have been shut down!
I started out similar to the way you did, hauling grain in the summer and logs in the winter.
I'm betting it's not easy finding machinery to haul at this time. If you ever go long and end up in Washington State give me a heads up and I will buy you dinner and help you find a load if needed, I have made quite a few contacts in the northern routes coast to coast!
Nice rig!
MACK E-6 Thanks this. -
Thanks..I might be in that area about springtime..I Plan to run south and west fo the winter..I'm a Fair Weather Driver now...When I see snowflakes I'm looking for a Parking Spot..LOL
