I was told I can only drive within the state and not cross country. Do you know anything about that?

I got the packet off the FMCSA website.Search “Vision Exemption packet” in their search box.
It involves a extensive eye exam,and some other stuff.Just make sure you send the application back 100%,or they send it back.(I know).It takes them about 2 Months to process it.its good for 2 years,and you have to get a physical every year.

I asked him to get it corrected with corrective lenses. He produces a letter from Florida Highway Safety & Motor Vehicle stating that person with one eye can get exemption for intrastate within Florida. I was upset since the driver lied to me that he did not get glasses to correct the vision. In fact he could not get correction. Of course the driver tried to argue and even asked the Executive Director from Tallahassee to call me. I refused to issue the certification for CDL driving and I am proud of my decision.

I had a Intrastate CDL first,and it was easier to obtain.Get the forms from your local DMV

Sorry Bill! There is no way you can meet the 70 degree periphial vision test. Say you had 20/20 in one eye and 20/70 in the other, you might be able to fight for a medical waiver then. But that's about the bare minimum.

I don't no what your talking about I have a class A Cdl 100% blind in my left eye took the test passed no problem

Are you interstate or intrastate? My guess is you only travel inside of your state, or went through the waiver process.

The linked post below is a good summation of what CondoCruiser was talking about. Keep in mind, he, as well as Injun, said that stuff 6.5 to 7 years ago.

Well, the joke is on you. As a matter of fact a few pilots are certified to fly with mono vision. An ex military pilot in Brazil safely landed a 737 that lost both engines due to hail ingestion on a grass berm owned by NASA. His left eye was destroyed in his combat days by a bullet.
