When i left Werner it was rite after thay screwed me over bad and it almost came down to me going to jail cause i ran out of hours. The next day i tell them that im done and i quit thay told me that im not allowed to quit. WTF is that crap. Soooo i just drove the truck from Dayville Ct to Allentown cleaned out my truck and got a ride back to Fl with a buddy of mine. Just make sure that if u do just go and turn in the truck make sure u have who ever there at the terminal to sige paper work that states that u turned in the truck at a terminal and it was turned in with out being destroyed or trashed. This will cover ur ### in the long run if Werner try's to screw you over. Trust me iv been in the same boat you are now with Werner. Thay like screwing drivers left and rite. Good luck

So far I've heard nothing but bad things about Werner. On Tuesday I have an appointment with the school I'll be attending in July and I'll be sitting in on a recruiter from Werner talking to the current students. I seriously can't wait to hear all the things they promise after reading about all the BS people have had to put up with from them. Should make for quite the afternoons entertainment.

    lol.

It wouldnt be abandonment since the truck would be dropped at the terminal.

I did the same thing at CRST and they didnt care.

Do not go to trucking school. There are other ways to learn to drive a truck, and get paid for it.

Such as? I don't want to get sponsored by a company then end up being locked into a contract and have to work for them for a year or whatever and have to pay back the cost of the training. I'm hopfully going to get funding by my countys' career link and won't have to pay anything back, and be able to choose who I work for. If you have any better ideas I'm all ears!

I would'nt suggest a Company School, although im sure there are a couple of good one's. Find an acredited Private School with a good Rep with at the very least 100HRS HANDS ON Training and a decent Success Rate. Their there, you just have to look and not Jump at the first one. Good Luck to You! :downtown:

Not what i meant man. I mean, you dont have to go to school. At all. There are 19 year old kids working in beer warehouses and they go get their permit and the place lets em learn to drive their small tractor trailers on the permit and then get their full license and drive for em...

home every day, make the same as OTR..come on. Why wouldnt ya. And after that, you got a cdl, you could come work for a trucking company but youd have to do their little go out with a trainer for a month game.

college course near me is 9 weeks, 4 days a week, 8 hour. Half way thru, you get your CDL A, then your allowed to drive by yourself up to a 1000 miles, they quareenteed. The college I picked is above the PTDI laws, college's go by state laws. Roadmaster school is neither. I'm waiting on grant for this $2400 school. I may not want the OTR, alot of local jobs near by.
