I want to say it was about 17 and there are 14 left. I'll check the numbers for sure tomorrow. None of us are hired until Thursday # 11am, so we will work it out then.

Okay.
Morning: Safety director revisits and summarizes the importance of fuel savings. 2007 was the first year that no bonus checks were handed out. Shows us a picture of an ankle that broke through the skin....don't jump off of the trailer. Continued on the Computer video modules.
Lunch: sandwiches, but turkey this time.
Evening: Recruiter met with us to discuss referral bonus program. Intro to Logging and Trip Planning the Maverick way. Finished computer video modules, tests, and did a road test. They make you do a full outside pretrip of the flatbed and then also drive the truck down the expressway one-2 exits down. So do what they tell you and you should be fine. But you'll need to remember the pre-trip info from CDL school.
One step closer to Thursday # 11am when we are hired.

Does Mav pay via Direct Deposit, or by paycheck. If check, is it mailed, and when?

Well, I just found out that Maverick decided that they didn't want me anymore. I failed my road test that I took the night prior. Of course they didn't tell me until today. Personally, I think the decision was bulls**t, but they handle you for the most part they were professional right up to the very end. I leave later on today to catch the bus back home, and they give you a pro-rated check for the time you were here. It was 2 of us (that I know of) that got sent home, we both did the road test together.
Once you pass the road test, it's pretty much like waiting until Thursday to get hired.
If I had something bad to say about Mav, it would be that they gave up a bit too quickly. I appreciate that they have high standards, but I mean the training didn't even get started yet. I wish they would have let you ride around in the truck on the yard for a bit. I was a bit nervous driving the truck as I'm sure all of us were.
I have no regrets, I still think Maverick is a great company. I am waiting to find out when I could join on again, if I could.
Perhaps someone else can pick up this blog where I left off. I'm sure it will be interesting.
For those that are wondering, I was going 20mph on an on-ramp that had the recommended speed limit of 25. You are supposed to go 10 mph below the recommended speed limit, or if there is no sign posted, no more than 20mph. There were supposed to be 2 other things, but the instructor that graded me never said what they were.
