Sorry...mini hi-jack. -
I've been meaning to check on your progress. I'll check out your thread.
Sorry.....mini hi-jack #2Texas-Nana Thanks this. -
As anxious as we are to hear your updates, do what'cha gotta do first. The job should come before posting to us, and I hope posting here is an enjoyable pass time for you. I'm afraid if you worry too much about keepin' us up to date you'll burn out on posting all together. Just jot down the highlights when you have a moment and fill in the rest when you have enough time to sit a spell and relax. The last thing we want to be to you is a dreaded burden.
Take care and be careful out thar.
OH!
Just a quick question, ---- have you had a chance to see The Gateway To The West Arch in St. Louis yet. It's a favorite sight of mine, especially after learning what precision was involved assembling it. They had to wait for the Sun to warm up the material enough to expand it enough to line up the bolt holes when puttin' the last piece in place, joining the two base portions together. I'd say it was well worth the effort.
Just thinkin' about that sight gives me goose bumps alllll over my body.
Then again, it might be the air conditioner. It's kinda warm here in SoCal today. I doubt we'll have any snow for Christmas again this year.

Good to have you back ORG! I've gotta admit that I was starting to have doubts, and probably would've written you off as far as trucking goes if we didn't hear from you by the first or second week of January. Glad you proved me wrong!
I don't know if you saw them, but several weeks ago I posted a couple of questions, so I'll repeat them here. Now that you've gone through school, training, and now have a few months of driving experience under your belt, how do you feel about your decision to leave yoour old career and go into trucking? Have you found the industry to be better, worse, or about what you expected? -
That being said, I've found that I've underestimated the *personal* challenges the job has. Being away from the family is incredibly difficult. I have had days where I felt so alone (almost like I was the only person on this earth) because I'm so far away from my family, in an industrial atmosphere that seems cold and forbidding to me. Keep in mind I came from a very nice office environment with a view of NYC, so you could say that I wasn't in Kansas anymore, Dorothy.Rattlebunny, andrew5184, Merlin1477024 and 4 others Thank this.
