I know I quoted Wedge here but the post was for onthefence. Try your beer distributors as well. If you have any DC's in your area maybe you can get hired as a yard dog and get some shifting practice that way.
Wanted to say Hi to ORG, just found your original thread today and then over to this new one. Congrats on your leap! I too, am sick of the traditional work/corporate world and I'm considering climbing in a truck. I do have a question for you and any of the other members in the forum. Can you point me to the GOOD posts about Swift? All I can find is the negative and I know it can't ALL be bad! Thanks
I hear yas ORG I am with hubby an still feel alone alot! Keep in mind he is my mentor...didnt think it would be this hard with him but he allows his feelings an frustrations to bleed thru in an especially tense situation. I am trying to chin up but it has gotten quite hard. Luv ya
want2b.... there are a few TTR members currently working at Swift (that I know of) that are happy there-you may want to PM them and/or check other Swift threads. Members: Injun, TexasNana, Oldnewbiegonnabe to name a few besides ORG Hope that helps some * You may still need 50 posts to send a PM (private message) if you do- ask a mod for help until you get the number of posts*
In a little over a week you can add me to that list sammy. I'm headed out for road training Monday morning amazing their gonna let me drive in a forward gear other then 1st and use the clutch and accelerator. Lol, there are 3 of us with this terminal's trainer I hope he packed extra shorts or has a lot of testicular fortitude. I know I'm packing extra shorts in my briefcase and baby wipes just in case. Keep the greasy side down and drive carefully
Thanks so much guys for this post Im still studying for my permit but I do feel a little better about Swift.
Green and Longshot Good luck to you both. No matter what you hear about any company you will hear good and bad about all. No company can keep ALL it's employees happy. Swift is big and I am sure gets a bad rap due to it's size like most big companies. All I can say is if YOU are working there and happy-what does it matter!!??
