yeah cuz they are idealistic, believe what the recruiters tell them and think it's a great job!

I think the point of this whole thread was ORG DID DO HIS HOMEWORK and then he fell off the map. No one knows what happened-if he's still working for Swift or what or if he had to hang it up and go home cuz of his family or what ever. Why do it? Ask a newbie and ask a 15 driver and you will get 10 different answers. I am a nurse for more years than I want to admit. Would I recommend it to someone? Depends on that person asking but I would tell them there are alot of good but also a lot of bad-but that goes with all jobs.

It's now 4 months since ORG's last post, and we've had only 3 posts from him since October. At this point I doubt very much he'll be back.

I think I have to agree with you Ray---too bad cuz I would really like to know either way what ever happened how ORG and his family are doing. Because he is a nice guy and I enjoyed his posts.

    rayodeluz Thanks this.

Yea, I'm sorry to say folks that ORG has simply fallen off the trucking earth. Even the personal one as I've no way to contact him and obviously, he has no intent to contact me.

Now this is either intentional which I find VERY hard to believe, OR, something disastrous has happened which with all my heart, I don't WANT to believe.

I really hope nothing bad happened. Both of you are a great reason why I learned alot more. And for that, I thank both of you.

hey all. been watching and reading this thread and org's inital thread. been considering switching career's as well. but after watching org's experiences it very well may not be the best idea. i do have a much greater respect for those driver's that are doing this. i do hope all is well with org and chris, will contine to follow in hopes that their dreams are fulfilled. and org hope the family is well.

This is why I think this thread should also be docked as a followup to ORG's HATWO thread, and be required reading for any wannabe. Not to scare off wannabes, but just to show that all the desire, good attitude, research, etc. may not be enough to overcome the hardships of this career, and that anyone considering this career needs to take the advice and wisdom given by the experienced guys to heart. I really think some people tned to gloss over some things or may not really think it through, and they're in for a rude awakening when reality hits.

ok so along with all the rest of you. i spotted a east bound swift truck today in tulsa, and automatically thought "could it be?" course going the wrong direction to try and find out. so i am one that hopes that he is just busy. although imo if he is pushing himself that much so he has no time to keep in touch, im thinking he will burn himself out.

and just to clarify on my part, i would still like to get out there and drive. but truthfully until i can have at least 8 months household reserve i wont even consider it. not about to risk the security of my family over something i want to do.
