I love my accent. Simply because the first thing people associate with it, is stupidity.

And it is sooooo easy to take advantage of some goober that thinks he is better/smarter than you.

Stack that on top of the fact, I drive a truck. It gets even better.

Get your own authority, and lock yourself in with a local company, or a couple. Shagging their trailers for them.

This generally takes a lot of time and experience. However, with rates and fuel fluctuating so wildly as of late. You may be able to wiggle into a slot.

Check with some of the agriculture related companies.

All my post have been on topic. Just because you don't like the answer/truth. What can I say?

Three years ago, your decision would have been viable. Albeit, a bit unwise. You would've found work almost immediately. But at this moment, companies are cherry picking their drivers.

IF I call you a name. I will respond directly to you, rather than another poster within your thread. While you may have intended it to, I found nothing about your post to be insulting. The mods however, have been known to spank us all from time to time when they see something they consider to be insulting.

I get my share of spankings too. :biggrin_25525:

We have a saying here. Your dad being from here should know it. And how it applies to what you've done.

Never put the cart, before the horse.

Interesting....now we have a thread within a thread.

Do we think he has the temperament to handle driving a truck in local traffic on a daily basis ? In Cali no less.

Obviously, CA is about to get another huge case of road rage with 80k lbs behind it.

How ya like me now? :smt023

    Mr Empire...

You have an uphill battle. You will face alot tougher obstacles than Mr Dance's computer words. Do you really want to truck? Then truck. Dont worry about winning popularity contests.

I was at a Petro sitting at the driver's belly bar trading war stories when this kid # 24 mentioned that he had just bought an old school 359 and was pulling skateboard. Its not often you see a trucker rolling in iron thats as old as he is. The truck looked great.

Anyways, you want to put your old iron back into active duty? Its not impossible. Make it happen. If you have to get your own authority, get your own authority. Do whatever you have to do. Nothings cooler than old iron. Everyone you meet will give you a thumbs up.

Hope to see you and the old iron on the road. Happy motoring.
