I'm I the only one that gets really irritated when...

Sorry, but I gotta... what makes me laugh, and annoys me... is guys who are entrenched in 50 year old technology (CB radios), who compare their size of the manhood by how many watts they can throw... when I can buy a basic radio that listens/talks for 2-3 miles out of the box, and someone will spend an extra $300-500 to make their 50 year old technology radio go ALL THE WAY OUT to 5 miles...

I was working in a radio and TV shop in Weimar, TX in 1976 when I was 12/13... soldering those cool carriers that allowed you to slip fit yout radio between vehicles... doing the math, that was 35 years ago, and there hasn't been many changes in radios since then.

Off my soapbox.. you folks carry on, and be safe.

 

I guess all a radio to you is a tool...to some it's a hobby. Funny thing is some of those who a radio is nothing more than a tool, will sure as hell invest in roger beeps, echos, extra channels, illuminated knobs, confederate flag face plates, chrome radio covers, noise toys, blue LED's and a whole list of "toys" for their chatterbox that's "just a tool".

Now if only someone with a 20k watt set up would get on channel 6, 11, 26 and tell those guys to shut up.

Big Watt Radio's are a hobby,get it ? A HOBBY
Same as building Hot Rods,Raising Dogs or anything else one shows interest in.
Dont like what another man is doing with their time,money and life ?
butt the F' out and mind your own affairs.

Some people still collect CHRISTMAS SEALS or matchbooks and that's what THEY like to do with their MONEY .....

 

I just can't figure out who decided that instead of saying "C'mon", it's now "C'mou'd", it' sounds like they've got a $%^& in their mouth, and they think they're cool saying it.

 

I totally agree, cant stand the radio tuff guy's, the ones allways picking fights, but when there called on there BS they shut up, or the stupid tarzan call, or the recorded wonan having a orgasim, the only thing i can think of for that is the guy cant actually make a girl do that so he gets a recording of one,I'm the same,I only turn on my radio now a days, is when Im at a receiver that contacts you by radio,other than that, it off!

 

read some more post on this, and OK it's a hobby?, but why talk crap on it, starting fights?, making stupid sounds?, acting like ten year olds, No one saying you cant have a hobby, but grow up, find some one to have a conversation with?, great! find an off channel and talk all you want, but have some resect for others out there

I like how all of these guys brag about having a big radio, I don't see any trucking company's ads saying.

"Now hiring driver's with big radios."

Or

"We pay more if you have a big radio."
