Then I won't leave many multi-stop shippers as most don't have every stop on a BOL. Especially when you're just delivering empty crates. The reason being it's not even considered cargo. They consider empty crates like they consider the empty engine metal crates I carried for Nissan one time. Dunnage. They said they're just like the pallets from a delivery. If all you have is pallets left on the trailer, you consider the trailer empty. So the BOL had nothing on it. The engines are considered the freight, not the empty crates they were returning to Nissan.Last edited: Jun 26, 2021

You have to be on top of loading, don't trust the shipper. Make sure it is loaded in the sequence you are going to run it. This is only empty crates. What if it was electronics or computers.
SoulScream84 Thanks this. -
Haul crates all the time ... always have a BOL ... you said you had a BOL, just not with both stops.
It's your company holding you accountable. You can just go along and take the blame. Or, you can let them know you want proper documentation.SoulScream84 Thanks this. -
If you’re being paid to transport JUST the crates, how is that not cargo?SoulScream84 Thanks this.

Exactly, taking empty auto racks back to Laredo, had BOL. Taking empty backing racks back to Portland. Something is wrong when paperwork is missing.

Sorry but I am going to step on toes here.
****** RIGHT IT IS YOUR JOB TO MAKE SURE WHAT IS LOADED ON YOUR TRUCK IS WHAT IS ON YOUR PAPER WORK … PERIOD!
the other thing is this …
THE BILL OF LADENING aka BOL is the legal document that you produce as a carrier saying you accept responsibility to haul the customers product or shipment. What the customer has you sign is a shipping order.TripleSix and SoulScream84 Thank this.
