Way too true on that one. I'm definitely thinking two and three times about everything and all the feedback has been invaluable.

A fleet owner once told me, "if your going to buy a truck, you better buy three, because when one is broke down or has no driver the other two can still pay for the three of them."

I tried that. Lost $100,000+. I didn't account for the financial collapse of 07-09 in my business plan though. Buying trucks is the easy part, getting and keeping GOOD, heck even DECENT drivers is harder than finding decent freight. I was paying .38, all miles, on a W2, $40 tarp, paid vacation, etc and I couldn't find anyone to drive 3 year old trucks.whoopNride Thanks this.

Yikes, that sounds downright intimidating. I've heard it's no easier finding good ones today, even with the economy being so "robust"
