Gawd have mercy!

No GPS in this truck, no problem finding my way. How on Earth did Marco Polo do it? He didn't have GPS either.

 

Last I check the is 2011...Why make life harder,GPS is a great tool.Any way i'm sure you used one,there really no way to find your way around without one.Maps books work but they only give you highways routes.

 

no they dont go to a detailed section and u can get streets and shopping centers also what ever city your in look at t he index and go to the cities page and its detailed...derrr i use gps in my personal car but definately not in a rig

 

Correct but there are GPS for trucks you know...

 

I trained for swift for a year or so around 3 years back. I dealt with 5 students, 4 under 28. The 4 said "I'll just use a GPS". I made them learn the road atlas, and they all thank me to this day.

 

And that's ok road atlas works well also,personally I think both working together is a truckers best friend.

I've read some whiners say that Swift doesnt really pay you for all the miles you drive and that they short your pay that way. Have you heard anything like that during your training?

 

Only way drivers that don't get paid all miles are the drivers who don't follow the directions,that's why a GPS is your best friend.
