I was hoping to see a post that she arrived intact myself.Night driving is far different for those that are not used to it.

Well I hope all turned out well:biggrin_25519:

you can always tell the knuckel dragers with 3 weeks training ... that u/haul only has to stop at the scale marked "Rental vehicles must stop" cause it's not a commerical vehicle and its under the GVW limit...DUH!!!

Thanks for the help everyone! I just recently got my internet hooked up so sorry for the delay. The trip went well, the only place I stopped at was the agriculture inspection place at the FL/GA border. I didn't make it the whole way without stopping, but the guy that transported the horses was kind enough to make sure they had hay and water in KY before he left. I hope I don't have to drive that far again anytime soon, I don't know how you truckers do it! I think I slept for 12 straight hours the first night in Kentucky.

Glad you made it. I'm just the opposite when I travel. I am kind of wired when I reach my destination and have a hard time sleeping the first night. I kind of crash and burn the second night though.

    From U-haul's web page:

On my move, do I need to stop at the weigh stations along the way?

Requirements may vary from state to state and throughout Canada. Each weigh station has a sign that says what you are required to do; just obey the signs. Normally U-Haul customers moving their own household goods are not required to stop, because this is not a commercial move. However, if a truck is over a certain weight it may be required to stop regardless of what is being carried.
I would think a CDL holder could not play dumb. Any thing over 25,000 lbs would have to stop because that is the weight for CDL requirement. I have driven the same truck from Rode Island to Santa Criuz CA, never was required to stop.

A couple of months ago a woman from Jasper , IN that had been living in Tucson , AR rented a Budget truck to move back to Jasper . She was less than an hour from Jasper when she rolled the truck in the median and was ejected and killed . Freinds traveling with her said they had argued about her erratic driving . http://www.news25.us/Global/story.asp?S=10998838
