Hmm , i guess i better put my 2 cents in on this one, although i am no longer at May which is still my family, i left may not because i had a quote un quote better job or may ticked me off. I left may to try and save my relationship that i am in. When i was told that i could come back that made me feel like i had done something right while i was there. I do have a diff job and dont particular care for it, matter fact i may be coming back to may, what i am saying is some times a person needs to be given may be a second chance, its called learning to look at the big picture, there are some people who dont know how to do that and believe it or not we can help them see the big picture. Well i hope all of you are doing well staying safe and HAVING FUN

Well. I'll throw my. 02 worth in as well. I am a newbie that is supposed to test out on Monday here at Brooks. So far I am very pleased with the company and the way they treat their employees. I come from a career where a person not being treated humanely is the norm. So maybe that's why my trainer says he's shocked at how little things bother me. He runs the 11 western run and only averages about 2200 miles per week. Now, with that being said, I believe that it is his fault partially, and maybe part his Dm. He hates to actually talk to his Dm on the phone, and when were here at Brooks, he walks across the street to the pilot to transflow or get coffee rather than walking I side here cause he doesn't want anyone in the office to notice him and he liked it that way. To each their own I guess.I believe if you get a half way decent Dm and you actually COMMUNICATE you will have a better chance of not having to sit. For example, we got to Brooks around noon today, and we're sitting here waiting for the qualcomm to tell us we have a dispatch. Rather than sending in a message asking for one because he doesn't want to talk to anyone in the office. I understand the out of sight out of mind works in some cases, but in this case it seems to be hurting. But then again, like I said, im still a newbie. So I am in no way an expert on the logistic decisions of May. But all in all, my impression is that May is the best option for a newbie like myself just gettin in to this business. Some people complain about the low cents they start off with here. But one main thing that they have to remember is the main thing that will get you the money will be if you keep moving! Sitting in a yard for a day and a half or so just because u don't feel like texting in will only hurt yourself.
So, my newbie, still learning opinion is I give May an gold star in my book.

Glad to hear you're about to solo out! As with most things in life, communication is the key; so yeah, just make sure you do that and things will be fine. And if you want solid miles with little sitting, go 48 reefer. 11 western is leisure time compared.

Will you be in Brooks Saturday and Sunday waiting to solo? I'm coming through there probably Sunday on the way to Portland. Maybe we could shake hands, neighbor... :biggrin_25525:

And yeah, still happy with my decision to go with May. Good place to start out...

I would be absolutely pis sed if i had 2200 miles a week and like you said communication is key to success and a good PTA
