Lol. Man, I'm not trying to be rude.

But, a rookie getting paid .55 mile for cross country runs. Tough to believe

I really didn't think it would be true either. It seems like in my area atleast there is a huge desperation for drivers. I mean in my city Saia is paying $28 an hour.

    TheRipper Thanks this.

Well, seriously, congratulations if it's true. But I still find it hard to believe.

A while back I read some positive reviews on Balkan Express. Just like any other company, some good and some not so good.
Carolina Logistics is Russian and has their own cdl school. Part of their program is teaching drivers to be owner-operators and help them set up an LLC. Good or bad, either way, it's working and a good niche for some drivers.

Really some good words Chinatown thank you. I took this chance because I am going to do a year OTR and save everything and go buy a house cash somewhere. These companies don't have all the crazy rules and physicals. Thy just want you to drive and be on time.

I am of a Russian/Ukrainian descent and I know lots of people working in trucking. CA Russian trucking companies don't pay 55cpm, it's slow out there compare to Midwest, their pay is 43-45cpm. Chicago-Detroit dry van outfits are at 50cpm now, flats 50-55 and reefers about 50 also.
    This is all on 1099.
CA company with 55cpm on cross country runs and W2 is a nonsense. If it was true, they would have a mile long of truckers waiting by the gate trying to get a job

I believe the $.55 cpm. It's not unusual for a company owner to work out a special deal with a driver and keep it under the radar. That's probably why the company name isn't in the post.
That could be big problems is the other drivers find out about it. Not the first time I've seen that.
